Barcelona star’s ‘agent meets with Man City’ and more transfer rumours
The agent of Ousmane Dembele has met with Man City ahead of a potential transfer next summer, according to reports.
City may be in the market for a new winger as rumours linking Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich have refused to go away.
The German hasn’t kicked a ball this season after picking up a serious knee injury in the Community Shield victory over Liverpool but the Bundesliga champions reportedly still hold their interest.
Should Sane depart Pep Guardiola may want to bring a replacement to the club and Dembele certainly has a lot of talent.
However, the 22-year-old has struggled since his £112million move to Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, having constantly been plagued by injuries and often cutting a controversial figure at the Camp Nou.
El Desmarque, via SportWitness, report that Barca are ‘looking to get rid’ of Dembele in the summer and that he ‘knows his time at the club is at an end.’
It’s claimed his agent met with City, as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, but that the Frenchman ‘likes the idea of a move to City’ and that the club would be ‘more willing’ to pay the high asking price.
The report states that City are ‘prepared to offer €95m’ but Barcelona want to use Dembele in a make weight to sign either Neymar of Lautaro Martinez.
Speaking of Martinez, City have identified the Inter striker as the ideal replacement for Sergio Aguero, according to reports.
The highly rated Argentine is enjoying a brilliant season at the San Siro and his goals have helped fire Inter to the top of Serie A.
Martinez has bagged 13 goals in 19 games in the league and Champions League, including strikes against Barcelona, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.
His form has earned him admirers from many of Europe’s big clubs and City are the latest according to Sky Italia, cited by the Daily Mail.
It’s claimed the 22-year-old is seen as ‘the ideal man’ to to take over from the legendary Aguero, whose contract expires in 2021.
