Fenerbahce forward ‘excited by Manchester United proposal’ and more transfer rumours
Manchester United have made a bid for Fenerbache striker Vedat Muriqi, according to reports.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been looking to bring attacking reinforcements to Old Trafford in January, showing interest in Bruno Fernandes and Edinson Cavani, and the loss of Rashford has only made the need more pressing.
As a result United have been linked with a wide array of strikers and, as the likes of Islam Slimani and Odion Ighalo have proved, not all of them have been glamorous.
It’s reported that the 25-year-old ‘is excited by the proposal’ but that it’s unlikely that Fenerbahce will let him leave half-way through the season.
Muriqi has a decent record of 12 goals and five assists in 19 games this season.
Meanwhile, United’s teenage midfielder James Garner is a loan target for Sunderland, according to reports.
Despite United’s injury problems in midfield, the 18-year-old hasn’t been able to break into the first team, having made just six appearances, with most of his minutes coming in the Europa League.
As a result, according to the Daily Mirror,‘United feel he will best benefit’ by heading out on loan for the rest of the season and that League One’s Sunderland ‘lead the chase.’
