Manchester United monitoring Atlanta United goalkeeper following successful trial
Manchester United will continue to monitor the progress of Efrain Morales following an impressive trial at the club earlier this year.
Atlanta United goalkeeper Morales was invited to the club last month after catching the eye of the club’s US scouts at a recent winter showcase event.
The 15-year-old shot-stopper travelled to Manchester in January on an initial eight-day training programme after club officials made a request to the MLS side to take a closer look at him.
Morales was joined by Atlanta United academy director Tony Annan during his spell at Carrington and made a positive impression on club officials with his attitude and professionalism.
“He’s still got lots of time, but he is definitely one of our top talents who we think has a huge ceiling on his potential,” Annan told MEN Sport.
“So I wasn’t surprised, it was a nice surprise it being Man United, but I wasn’t surprise. He went in there, and he held his own and did really well.
“He’s a very laid back kid, so he takes everything in his stride. He doesn’t get carried away, he is a very even keel kid. When I told him he was excited, why would you not be? But, he got over it and was ready to go over straight away. He went in there confidently.”
