Mauricio Pochettino urged to snub Man Utd job for Man City as two other clubs eye coach | Football | Sport
“It’s going to be difficult, I know, and for now it’s a moment to wait and we’ll see what happens.”
The chances of the City job becoming available at the end of the season has increased after boss Pep Guardiola said he could end up being sacked if he failed to win the Champions League just days before the club were banned from the competition for two seasons.
City have been banned from European club football for two seasons after UEFA ruled that the club had breached financial fair play regulations – City have said they will appeal.
Guardiola will take on Real Madrid in the last-16 of the competition on Wednesday and the Spaniard insisted there is pressure on him to win the tournament.
“If we don’t beat them, then the chairman will come, or the sporting director, and say ‘It’s not good enough, we want the Champions League, I’m going to sack you’,” Guardiola said.
